Studio 117 Once again this year, I'll be opening up my studio to the public. Your chance to see where the magic happens! My unique straw-bale studio is packed full of landscapes done in pastel, oil and metal leaf. 

Dates are September 24 and 25, October 1 and 2, 10 to 4 daily.

I will be a field painter at this year's grand gathering of plein air painters. This means that I'll be doing demos and each afternoon paint-out and available to answer questions and offer assistance to participants.

Artists were asked if they'd be willing to create a piece of artwork in their favored medium in response to a poem that they had never previously seen.

So many responded that the number had to be pared to fifty.

This is a delightful and thought-provoking exhibition.

Each season, the Art Club chooses a limited number of paintings submitted to a competition to be included in a three month themed exhibition. "The Beauty of the Story" is the fifth such online show.

My pastel, "Family Fun on the Russian River" shows the delight of rounding the bend on this Northern California River to find a

row of colorful umbrellas and happy families on the riverbank.

Artists open their studios to the public to see where the magic happens.

For 34 years, artists have been donating wonderful original artwork in a variety of mediums, to this most worthy cause, the Sonoma County AIDS Network which provides services to people living with AIDS and their families.

This exhibition is the most vital platform for demonstrating the best of the realist genre. While participating artists employ time-honored fine art techniques, their featured works in this unthemed exhibition seek to innovate with modern messages that address societal issues from diversity to the environment.

This exhibition features the best pastel artists working in the medium today. Over 1000 entries from countries worldwide with only 175 paintings accepted.
