This month is presenting all of us with wonderful opportunities to support the people of Sonoma County through art. First off, I'm participating in the Art for Life Auction, California's longest-running art event to benefit the Sonoma County AIDS Network. Between Seasons, an original pastel painting of the western Sierra Nevada foothills, will be auctioned on Saturday, September 16th, between 2 to 6 p.m. If you'd like to see all of the work available, there's also a public preview on Friday, September 15th, from 12 to 3 p.m. For more information, go to: artforlifef2f.com.

And then there's the Sonoma Plein Air Event! Together with about 35 other artists, I'll be spending this week painting gorgeous scenes all around Sonoma County and the surrounding area. All of our newly created plein-air paintings will be shown and available for sale on the Sonoma Plaza from 10 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, the 16th. As a preview of our work, we're showing studio paintings, like Evening on Tomales Bay and Morning Moon, at Adastra Wine & Art all week (located at 5 East Napa Street on Sonoma Plaza). It's such a great cause, with 40% of any sales going to youth art programs in Sonoma County, so please come on out to support the arts and enjoy the beauty of this region!
