Any moment now I'll be heading down to Southern California to participate in one of my favorite plein-air painting events. It's the 19th Annual Laguna Plein Air Painters Association annual invitational competition! There are so many amazing scenes to paint during the seven days of painting, and of course, plenty of great activities related to the paint-out. Everyone loves the Quick Draw on Sunday, October 8th, from 2 to 4 p.m., followed by the sale of those fresh-off-the-easel works from 5 to 6 p.m. On Wednesday, October 11th, there will be an auction of small works (including Cypress Point, above) in conjunction with a lecture by renowned curator and art historian Jean Stern at Tivoli Too from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Rounding out the week is the Collector's Soiree on Saturday, October 14th, followed by the grand finale, Sunday's Art Show, again at Tivoli Too.
