Come Paint With Me
Golden Gate Welcome
Golden Gate Welcome
I'm doing quite a bit of teaching in the months ahead, and I wanted to
invite you to two of these events in particular. The first is the Plein
Air Convention & Expo in San
Francisco on April 24 to 28. This event just keeps getting bigger and
better every year, and I'm really looking forward to my demo on
Thursday morning. I've got a very special program lined up--I'll be
explaining how well the pastel medium lends itself to revising and
reworking plein-air paintings.
Then, on May 11, I'll be giving a demo at Stafford Lake Regional Park
in Novato. This free demo, sponsored by the Laguna Plein Air Painters
Association, will wrap up about noon, so I hope you'll stick around for
an afternoon of plein-air painting. It's a huge park with plenty of
fantastic, inspiring subjects to choose from. Please RSVP with the
LPAPA folks
so that we know how many people to expect. Even if you're not an
artist, please join us for the morning!

Which One Will It Be?
I'm also very pleased to announce that I'll be exhibiting in the Pastel
Society of the West Coast's 33rd Annual Pastels USA exhibition
. Want to see the painting? It's a secret! Guess you'll
just have to come to the show at the Haggin Museum in Stockton. The
exhibit runs May 16 through July 14, with an opening reception on the
afternoon of May 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. You'll find dozens of amazing
pastel paintings in every style imaginable!

And don't forget that the California Art Club's A California Spring
group exhibition is still on view at The Old Mill in
San Marino through May 19 if you haven't seen it yet. The show
celebrates the beauty of California through artwork like Profusion,
Visalia Foothills.
