Announcing A Whole New Collection of Art!

Welcome, oil and aluminum leaf, 24 x 24 inches
Drumroll, please! I'm absolutely delighted to announce the release of
my newest collection of art. My brand new series of thirty Mitchell
Leafscapes has evolved over the past four or five years. I've truly
enjoyed working with oil paints again after decades of doing landscapes
exclusively with pastels.
These Mitchell Leafscapes feel more alive to me than my plain oils:
they shimmer differently in every lighting situation or as you walk
past them. The colors of the metal leaf glow or go dark, and easily
reflect the subtlest ambient light. I've chosen copper for its rich
warm tones and aluminum for the bright vibrant shine of this
non-tarnishing metal leaf. Both are varnished to avoid changes from the
environment over time. I'm thrilled to be sharing them with you!

Where Can You See Them?
If you're as excited to see the new collection as I am to share them, I
hope you'll stop by my studio during the Sonoma County Art Trails open
studio tour on October 12 and 13
and October 19 and 20. It's one of the few times in the past 20 years
that I've opened my studio to the public, so you'll have a chance to
see my new work as well as my traditional pastel paintings. My straw
bale studio is just one of many places on the art tour where you can
see artists in their natural habitats making art. It's a beautiful time
of year, and I can't think of a better way to spend a day than driving
through the spectacular Sonoma County wine country enjoying all kinds
of art by 140 artists. I hope you'll stop by as you tour the studios of
local artists.
