During a plein air event to raise funds for the preservation of Mt. Tamalpais in Marin County, CA, I rolled out of bed before sunlight and quickly drove with Richard Lindeberg to this spot under Highway 101 overpass. This seemingly placid sunrise on the majestic mountain was the result. It was so cold right by the bay waters that I had to keep jogging around to stay warm and wore gloves with fingers cut out to hold the pastels. Well worth the effort. I love the scene and plan to do a bigger version soon. Pastels or oils?
